Pictured: Twin, 29, killed falling from escalator inside the World Trade Center Oculus while reaching for her sister's hat



A woman died inside the World Trade Center Oculus at 5.30am Saturday by falling off the escalator as she was reaching to grab a hat her twin sister dropped. Jenny Santos fell over the rail of the escalator and plummeted about 34ft onto the marble floor according to  News. Her twin sister ran screaming to her body. The 29-year-old victim is from Kearny, New Jersey. Santos was rushed to Bellevue Hospital but it was too late to revive her. The twin sister was treated in the hospital for trauma according to the New York Post. A construction worker who witnessed the aftermath told the Post: 'There was a lot of blood.' 'That was it. There was nothing you could do. She wasn’t going to make it. “There was a lot of blood, and the way she was laying…' The investigation is ongoing. Santos graduated from William Paterson University with a BS in physical education according to her LinkedIn page. The Oculus is the center of the World Trade Center Transportation Hub. The $3.9bn structure was completed in March of 2016.
